About Dr. Porter


Dr. Porter is a clinician and researcher at Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine. She is Board Certified in Holistic Medicine, having received further training in various aspects of Holistic, Integrative, and Complementary Medicine including Medical Acupuncture and Healing Touch. Her current research covers integrative approaches to a variety of health situations including infertility, PTSD, osteoporosis and headache with a focus on biofield therapies and changes in gene expression. With a background in Pediatrics, Child Neurology, Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health her clinical focus is on Pediatric and Adolescent ADD/ADHD and Weight Management. She also has a strong interest in promoting healthy lifestyles and preventive practices through all stages of life, having lectured and developed curricula on cancer prevention, nutrition and obesity, environmental health, and healthy aging. Dr. Porter is committed to bringing Integrative Care to underserved populations as well as educating other physicians and medical students, having partnered with Vista Community Clinic and the UCSD Student-Run Free Clinic. Dr. Porter is the recipient of a Bravewell scholarship for the University of Arizona Program in Integrative Medicine Fellowship program.
